Still My First Reach Two Years Into Residency

Picked this up during my residency because I needed something I could carry between floors without thinking about it. Two years later it's still the one I reach for first. Battery life has held up better than I expected given how often I use it.

Clean White Light, Though the Case Runs Snug

The light is clean and white without that yellow cast my older halogen unit had. Makes a real difference when you're trying to assess disc color. My only small complaint is that the carrying case is a bit snug once you add spare batteries.

Fits Easily in My Home Visit Bag

I do home visits and space in my bag is always tight. This fits alongside my BP cuff and otoscope with room left over. Nothing has rattled loose or gone out of alignment after about eight months of daily transport.

Worth the Investment as a Med Student

As a med student I was worried about spending this much, but it's paid off. Took me a couple of weeks to get comfortable rolling through the diopter settings without looking, and now it's second nature. Solid piece of equipment to learn on.

Survived Drops on Our Rural Mobile Clinic

Bought this for our mobile clinic work in rural areas. It's been dropped at least twice onto a tile floor and still works perfectly. The aperture selector still clicks positively into each position, which surprised me honestly.

Much Lighter With Comparable Optics

Replaced a much heavier older model and the difference in hand fatigue during a long clinic day is noticeable. Optics are comparable to what I was using before at a fraction of the weight.

Easy for My Daughter to Handle on Rotations

Got this for my daughter who just started her clinical rotations. She says it's easy to handle and the smaller head makes it less intimidating for patients. She's been happy with it, which is all I was hoping for.

Close to the Name-Brand Unit at Our Department

Honestly I expected to be disappointed compared to the name-brand unit our department stocks. The image quality is close enough that I don't miss it. Focus wheel is a little stiffer than I'd like out of the box but it loosened up with use.

Comfortable Grip That Holds Up With Gloves

Comfortable to hold and the rubber grip doesn't get slippery even with gloves on. I use it mostly for quick screening exams and it's more than adequate for that. Would recommend for anyone who needs something reliable but not lab-grade.

Small and Gentle Enough for Pediatric Exams

Peds practice here. Kids tolerate the exam better because it's small and the light isn't harsh. Being able to get in and out quickly makes a bigger difference than I anticipated when I bought it.
